Training Description: Under Section 902 of the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization 2013, one of the four purpose areas of the Grants to Indian Tribal Coalitions is increasing awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault against American Indian and Alaska Native women. Tribal TTA provider Qizhjeh Heritage Institute
(QHI) and their team of communication expert s are providing a website best practices training covering planning to content development and user experience. Strong websites are valuable communication tools for OVW Tribal Coalitions and this training can be applied to both existing and new websites. Training topics include site mapping, user – friendly layouts, target audience considerations, foundational content to include, tailoring your content, image usage, donation fields, contact page fields, content updates, connecting social media accounts, communications opt-ins and more.
Learning Objectives:
  • Learn best practices for new and existing websites.
  • Learn how to plan new websites.
  • Learn how to audit content of current websites.
  • Learn key considerations for website management.
Who Should Attend: Tribal Coalition leadership, and staff who are involved in outreach, communications,
customarily organizing community awareness events and activities . Website contractors are also encouraged
to attend. Registration is not limited to outreach personnel, and all Tribal Coalition staff members are welcome to attend.
